What is New
Spiritualism?
New Spiritualism is a God centered movement within Spiritualism aimed at restoring mankind to our original, purer religious beliefs.
Is Spiritualism the First Religion of Mankind?
While mankind’s earliest religions were not referred to as Spiritualism, the teachings were the same.
What is New Spiritualism seeking to accomplish?
When Modern Spiritualism was formed in the late 18th century it began to adopt ideas from science and other religions to help explain the ancient truths that are its foundation. New Spiritualism seeks to remove the obscuring teachings and terms to bring Spiritualism back to the original, primal truths of mankind.
What is the goal of New Spiritualism?
New Spiritualism seeks to evolve the soul. Through the development of the Four Foundations, a New Spiritualist gains higher wisdom until reaching a level of total harmony and oneness with God.
What are the Four Foundations?
Personal Responsibility
Personal Responsibility is the foundation upon which a New Spiritualist builds his life. God gifted us a soul that is capable of independent thought and action, and we must accept responsibility for our deeds, the consequences that come from those actions and understanding that what we do impacts those around us.
Our thoughts shape our world. We make it into what we want and thus it is in our power to create paradise in whatever plane of existence that we live. Personal responsibility means keeping healthy, managing your emotions, treating others with respect, and living a moral, God-centered life. We are the only one who can develop our spiritual abilities and to grow in spiritual harmony and oneness with God.
Awareness
Awareness is the first spiritual ability that we develop. When we were first created we were completely unaware that anything existed beyond ourself. Our first step toward God came when something imposed itself into our consciousness and we began to explore life.
As New Spiritualists we know that God is aware of all existence across all time and space and that God is conscious of everything all at the same time. We may not be able to match this level of Awareness yet, but the goal of all life is it gaining understanding until we can.
By developing our ability to meditate, pray, communicate with spirits and use our psychic talent we become more aware. We become are able to feel more of God’s presence and love in our lives. Plus, we gain many wonderful benefits as we develop.
Compassion
The awakening of compassion within your soul was when you began to develop your higher spiritual self. Compassion is more than just caring about someone else it is the core of our ever expanding understanding of the interconnectedness of all life. Beginning with wanting higher good for our families, we then grow to include the needs of our close friends, our acquaintances and eventually all life. It is this development that brings us closer to oneness with God.
God's compassion is all-encompassing, infinite and given without conditions. God works to remove suffering from every living soul. God desires to fill our every moment with blessings. By developing our own compassion we raise ourselves to God’s level of caring.
GOD
There is only one God who is eternal, without beginning or ending. God is omnipotent, omniscient, omnibenevolent and omnipresent. God is all.
God’s presence is constant. When you truly allow God fully into your soul you will never know a moment alone. God is present by subtle means. It is like a deep, fully-satisfying hug that happens on the spiritual level.
God is at the center of all life. This means that everything is literally connected.
God loves every soul equally. You have felt that love flow through you, even if you didn’t know what it was that you were feeling. God’s energy and being is always flowing through all life. Sometimes God’s love is sensed like the quiet flow of a river and other times it feels like it will burst out like a river over-flowing its bank. The difference comes from needs. When everything is going well, then God’s love is gentle and quiet. When you are in real need, then God’s love fills you to over-flowing and you will feel so good that you are lifted up.
God is complete. There is only one God that is neither male nor female—God is beyond all such divisions.
God is love. God is all-good. God is always working for your best. Know this as the fact that it is. Act as if you were already feeling God’s presence in your life even if you are not. Work at seeing the wonder in everything. Give thanks for every blessing in your life. Learn to see beyond yourself. Pray for others. Do charitable work. Truly pay attention to other people. Listen rather than thinking about what you want to say. Accept yourself as you are while working every day to be a better person. Love yourself and recognize that you are a unique, special child of God deserving of good. Make sure that God is always at the center of your life. Consider every word and action before doing them and ask yourself if you would be proud for God to know about them.
